Lakad for Kalasugan
A family-friendly 5k race raising funds for health related projects and initiatives in the Philippines that would provide relief and rehabilitation to communities impacted by typhoons and volcano eruptions and to support the Filipino Bayanihan Center’s Health Programs in Portland, OR. “Lakad” means walk or move in Tagalog.

All proceeds from our race will go to the Filipino Bayanihan Center, a migrant service center that aims to connect community members to essential resources and their newly established community clinic. The center also partners with the Foundation for Philippine Progress, an organization dedicated to empowering and engaging communities in programs and projects for the Philippines to secure quality health, education, and basic human rights for every Filipino. The Foundation will use funds raised for health related projects and initiatives in the Philippines that would provide relief and rehabilitation to communities impacted by typhoons and volcano eruptions.
What does the day look like?
8 am
Race Day Check-in
Please check in in a timely manner to ensure that you do not miss the start of the race! Come pick up your race materials, swag bags, and a good morning high five!
We'll get the music started so that you can enjoy some pre-race stretches and some nice beats!
9 am
Race Begins
Shoes, check! socks, check! yourself, check! 3,2,1 and the race begins! Loop 5 times around the route and you are done!
10 am
Party in the park
Various Filipino Chefs and Restaurants will open pop-up food booths from which you can purchase from. We will have live music from local artists and DJ sets. Come join us for this post event family friendly celebration as we conclude Lakad for Bayanihan
